Jenny and Philip had wonderful ceremony on the riverfront in downtown Shreveport. The wedding was timed perfectly with the setting sun. A fun and energetic reception followed on Cross Lake.
Come to find out, my wife Charlotte and the groom, Philip are distant cousins. They share the same aunt and uncle through marriage. No wonder I felt like part of the family!
I love my job. I meet great people, capture special moments of their lives, and watch children grow up get married. All of this right in front of my camera!
At age 13, I discovered that I had a passion for photography. Growing up in a small suburb of Chicago, I started providing team pictures for the local little league. After taking the photos, I would go home to my darkroom and make 8x10 black/white prints. Then I would ride my bicycle to the baseball field and sell the photos to the parents watching the game. In high school, I worked part-time for a newspaper, a couple photographers, an ad agency, and started creating portraits.
Then I moved to Santa Barbara California to attend Brooks Institute of Photography where I received my BA in Fine Arts/Photography. In 1982, I came to Shreveport to work for a photographer here.
In Shreveport, I met my wonderful wife Charlotte, and we soon married. We have a creative daughter, Mary Charlotte, who works with me.
In 1985, I opened my own business. Now, 26 years later, I continue to create images each and everyday with the same excitement as I had when I was 13. (www.brianlewis.com 318-861-8917)
